The Weekly Links: Vol. 1

Welcome to Volume 1 of The Weekly Links, a round-up of what I’m reading, what I’m clicking on, and what I’m trying out for my golf game. I’d love to hear from you in the comments about what you’ve been paying attention to golf-wise this week.

I got out for my first round of golf for the season this week. I wish it had been earlier but between kids’ sports schedules, school vacation, and more rain than I could have imagined, it was tough to get a round in.

I went to the driving range on Monday and it felt great to warm up. I worked on trying the different clubs in my bag – starting with my 8-iron and working my way down, and then back up. I hit my 8-iron, 7-iron, 6-iron, 5-wood, 4-hybrid, and driver.

Golf is just around the corner in my region – and one thing I’ve been looking for is a great golf hat for sun protection that I can bring with me this year.

Golf Wardrobe Wishlist: Jack Smith Skort, Pullover, and Dress

This week, an interesting post came up in the Facebook group – a recommendation for affordable ladies’ golf attire from Amazon. The brand – Jack Smith – is new to me, but seems to have a lot of fans out there. I’m always looking for new, interesting skorts, dresses, and tops, and have found some great contenders.

Golf Wardrobe, Tried and Tested: Zella Live In Joggers

When I started learning to golf, I wore what I had in my workout wardrobe. Most of those items were well-worn leggings, sweats, and tops. I wanted to get some newer, not-too-expensive items that I could wear that would be good for playing golf and would get some wear in other parts of my life too.

I decided to try the jogger version of the pants I loved, and they are truly incredible. Zella’s Live In Jogger comes in sizes from XS – 2X.

I’m not going to lie, I really do love the outfits in golf. I’ve made it a priority to mostly stick to budget apparel, since I’m still learning to golf and figuring out whether I’ll stick with it.
There are so many brands I want to try – but one that has stood out recently has been William Murray golf. Yes, this is a brand by the actor Bill Murray you know and love.

There are a lot of great items for men and women available on the website and I’m particularly in love with the Azalea Remastered Polo Dress. I love the colors, the print, the style. Everything about it!

Golf Wardrobe, Tried and Tested: My Review – 32 Degrees Skort at Costco [2023]

Golf Wardrobe, Tried and Tested: My Review – 32 Degrees Skort at Costco [2023]

Last year, the 32 Degrees Ladies’ Skort was a big topic in the Facebook group, and I had to check it out – $14.99 for a well-reviewed skort??
I didn’t really know what to expect, but I didn’t expect to love the skorts as much as I do. They come in an extended size range (up to 3x), have two (actually usable) pockets, and have built-in shorts. I have worn these at least ten times in the past year – they are the first skorts I reach for when I’m choosing an outfit for golf, due to both the comfort and cuteness factors.

If you Google ‘women’s golf attire’, you’ll be met with an endless list of results. You’ll find pretty much anything your heart desires. I’ve usually got a budget in mind – especially as a beginner golfer, I don’t want to make too big of an investment. But I’ve found some of the cheapest options are cheap for a reason.
This week, I’m telling you about the recent purchase that I refuse to take off. This might not be a “traditional” golf piece – but I think it’ll be a workhorse in my golf wardrobe and I’ll get a lot of use out of it.

Best Women’s Golf Shoes: Top 5 Brands for Beginner Women Golfers to Consider

Best Women’s Golf Shoes: Top 5 Brands for Beginner Women Golfers to Consider

What are the best ladies’ golf shows for beginners? I started golfing in workout clothes and my favorite Nike sneakers. But after showing up for ladies’ clinic at my local course for a couple of months, I knew I’d want to be out on the course, and I wanted to have a pair of golf shoes. I wanted to make sure they’d be comfortable – For a round of 18 holes, you’re out on the course between 3 and 4 hours, and you don’t want to find out mid-round that they don’t fit.

What to Wear as a Beginner on the Course: Finding Women’s Golf Attire on a Budget

When you’re learning to golf, in addition to everything else, one key question that comes up is – what should I wear? Women’s golf attire can be hard to navigate – different courses have different requirements, some items can be very expensive, and if you haven’t golfed before, it’s hard to know what you’ll feel most comfortable in.
You really only need one or two outfits to get started. Make sure that you’re going to stick with golf before making a more significant investment. You may be tempted to buy clothing from the pro shop, but you’ll spend way more there. Wait until you know for sure you’ll get good use out of them. The selection at stores like Amazon, Target and Costco is stylish and affordable, and a great start for your wardrobe.
