Golf Wardrobe Wishlist: Jack Smith Skort, Pullover, and Dress

This week, an interesting post came up in the Facebook group – a recommendation for affordable ladies’ golf attire from Amazon. The brand – Jack Smith – is new to me, but seems to have a lot of fans out there. I’m always looking for new, interesting skorts, dresses, and tops, and have found some great contenders.

I’m sharing a few of the items on my wish list below.

The Collared Athletic Dress with 4 Pockets (4 pockets! I’m sold!) is beautiful.

I love the blue color, but there is also a nice argyle print available. I like collared sleeveless dresses, because at some of the local courses, the dress code recommendations include a preference for collars on sleeveless tops.

There are a number of golf polo tops which are nice, but I’m focused on long sleeve pullovers right now, since it’s chilly where I am.

I love this blue to go along with the dress above.

I’m also looking at this skort with built in shorts and pockets (pockets always get me!)

I love the print on this – I have a wardrobe of lots of solid color skorts and tops, and am looking to add some more fun prints in. I don’t know why, but the feather print is calling me!

You can also find a leopard print skort, a camo version, and some pretty floral prints as well.

I’m feeling tempted – I’ve already clicked ‘add to cart’ and might just have to try these out and see how they are. They get great reviews, and it seems like the women who are fans of the brand love the colors, prints and cut of each piece.

You do not need to be good at the game to play in a charity golf tournament. Try your hardest, pick up your ball and move on to the next hole if you’re not making progress, and enjoy your time with your teammates. Golf tournaments are a great way to learn from others and build your confidence on the course.

To play in a tournament, you should understand the basic fundamentals of the game, and the parts of a golf course. You should have golf attire that meets the tournament course’s dress code, and a set of clubs (yours, or borrowed) to play. Make sure you’re also familiar with how to stay safe on the golf course. In my opinion, you can learn these elements of the game within 5-6 clinics, lessons, or rounds of golf.

I remember my first round of golf like it was yesterday. I was so excited – I’d wanted to actually play a round of golf for so long. I was also really nervous – what if I made a huge mistake or looked like I didn’t know what I was doing?

Tips for the Beginner Golfer: Driver Basics

Learning the game of golf can be overwhelming: the rules of the game, the lingo used on the course, the equipment and gear you may need. I don’t think beginners should try and learn everything before starting – you really only need a basic working knowledge of a few key things in order to begin.

You don’t even need to have a full set of clubs. As a beginner, you should just get started with a few, and you can even play with a partial set. I’ve shared before that I think you really only need five clubs to get started. One of those should be a driver.

What are the best ladies’ golf shows for beginners? I started golfing in workout clothes and my favorite Nike sneakers. But after showing up for ladies’ clinic at my local course for a couple of months, I knew I’d want to be out on the course, and I wanted to have a pair of golf shoes. Short Par 4 offers subscriptions for men and women. For women, there’s one choice – the Magnolia membership. Customers fill out a short questionnaire outlining their preferences for style, sizing and additional information on golf experience.

When I filled out the questionnaire for the first time, I was a little confused on how to answer, as I was a beginner golfer with little experience. I chose the “traditional” style, entered my sizes, and guessed at the “additional information” questions that I didn’t have a strong preference for – things like putter preference, wedge preference and ball preference are all works in progress!

If you Google ‘women’s golf attire’, you’ll be met with an endless list of results. You’ll find pretty much anything your heart desires. I’ve usually got a budget in mind – especially as a beginner golfer, I don’t want to make too big of an investment. But I’ve found some of the cheapest options are cheap for a reason.
This week, I’m telling you about the recent purchase that I refuse to take off. This might not be a “traditional” golf piece – but I think it’ll be a workhorse in my golf wardrobe and I’ll get a lot of use out of it.
