This Vuori hoodie is definitely going to be a staple for my women's casual golf wardrobe.

Golf Wardrobe, Tried and Tested: Vuori Halo Performance Hoodie 2.0

When I started learning to golf, I wore what I already had in my workout wardrobe: some leggings, joggers, sports bras and tops that were probably just a little past their prime. It was during the pandemic, I was happy to get outside, and I had no idea what I should be wearing. I wasn’t about to spend a lot of money on a whole new wardrobe without having any context for what was appropriate, and more importantly, what was comfortable.

The pro shop at my local course sells clubs, shoes, equipment, and clothes. The men’s section is probably at least five times as large as the women’s section – I think there is one rack of shirts, one rack of skorts, and a few pairs of shoes in the women’s section. The selection itself isn’t great – it seems like everything is either skin tight or cut so big that you can’t help but look frumpy. Anyway, enough complaining – I say all this just to give you an idea of the kind of golf clothes I was familiar with.

The women on the course, however – they had great style. I saw sporty looks, preppy sets, and fun prints all on display. It took me a while to learn where they were finding their golf attire – and I wasn’t surprised to find out it wasn’t at the pro shop.

If you Google ‘women’s golf attire’, you’ll be met with an endless list of results. You’ll find pretty much anything your heart desires. I’ve usually got a budget in mind – especially as a beginner golfer, I don’t want to make too big of an investment. But I’ve found some of the cheapest options are cheap for a reason.

I’ve been keeping my eye out for pieces that are more reasonably priced, and I’m more willing to spend more when I can buy something that I can wear outside of golf – maybe on weekends, maybe even to work. It’s all a work in progress – but when I find something I love, I want to spread the word – maybe it’ll help you as you put together your own golf wardrobe, maybe you’ll have some suggestions for me.

This week, I’m telling you about the recent purchase that I refuse to take off. This might not be a “traditional” golf piece – but I think it’ll be a workhorse in my golf wardrobe and I’ll get a lot of use out of it.

Keep in mind, I am in a colder climate and our golf season has yet to begin. I’m spending more time at the simulator to get ready for the season, and the vibe is definitely more casual. Still, I want something comfortable to move in that still looks good and holds its shape. Vuori’s Halo Performance Hoodie 2.0 is all that and more, and I’m planning on getting as much use out of it as possible.

I have been hearing about Vuori clothing through other blogs and Instagram accounts for years – at least since 2020, and I am usually a little suspicious when everyone seems to be picking the same brand as their favorite. I think I missed the boat on this one – the fabric, fit and color are all just right, and I see why the company is such a favorite.

My favorite thing about this hoodie is the fabric – it’s a performance fabric, but it is so soft on my skin. It layers well over other tops, and fits well under a heavier jacket. So far, it doesn’t seem to stretch out, and while I have a full range of movement when I’m swinging my club, I love that the hoodie isn’t too baggy and still retains its shape.

My outfit this week was my Vuori hoodie, Athleta’s white Outbound Tee layered underneath, and black Live In Pocket Joggers from Zella that I’ve loved for years but are looking a little raggedy and probably need to be replaced. I’ve been thinking about just repurchasing the same ones I have, but now that I love this hoodie so much, I might just have to try out the Vuori Performance Joggers which get a lot of love.

The price is higher than I might normally spend – just under $100 – but their website does offer a 25% coupon for first-time buyers, and honestly this is something I’m pretty sure I’ll get a good amount of use out of. I’ve also found that the pieces I buy that cost a little more wind up lasting longer than my Target and Old Navy finds. I still love finding pieces there – but a hoodie like this is something I plan on keeping in the rotation for years.

Have you tried Vuori hoodies or joggers? Any other items you’d recommend?
